GOLD VERMEIL

Gold vermeil is a technique where gold is applied to sterling silver with a thicker layer of gold to standard plating. The plating is required to be 2.5 microns thick which is 5 times thicker than normal gold plating. This makes Gold Sister jewellery far more long-lasting and durable than standard plating.

GOLD PLATED

All Gold Sister plated items are made from a base metal of brass or sterling silver plated with 18k gold. The items are all nickel and lead free. Gold plating is where a thin layer of gold is plated onto the base metal. The jewellery is then dipped into a final layer of gold with a positive electrical charge fusing the gold onto the base. 

LOVE YOUR GOLD SISTER

Gold Sister jewellery requires some level of care to keep it looking its best. Remove jewellery when sleeping, exercising, swimming, and showering. Avoid contact with perfume, lotion and any chemicals, such as household cleaners. Never use a ‘jewellery’ cleaner – as these will strip away the gold plating. To lightly clean, use a soft, lint-free cloth.
